We are Preston and Lauren Banks, the dedicated husband-and-wife duo and proud owners of Pure Skin Laser Center. With backgrounds in communications and marketing, we bring a unique combination of technical prowess and creative flair to our skincare practice. Our journey to Pure Skin started a year ago but it wasn't just a career choice—it was born out of personal experience and a deep desire to make a positive impact in our community. Starting with a focus on tattoo removal, personal struggles with skin issues opened our eyes to the broader need for compassionate and personalized skincare solutions in our community. Driven by this realization, we embarked on a mission to fill a gap in our community, providing a place where people could feel truly cared for and empowered to overcome their skin challenges. We knew we wanted to be a part of changing someone's story for the better, one treatment at a time. At Pure Skin Laser Center, every treatment is about more than just skincare—it's about transforming lives and helping clients feel confident, inside and out. We are passionate about creating a welcoming, no-pressure environment where clients can feel comfortable and supported throughout their skincare journey. Elizabeth Kmita, M.S. PA-C is a licensed and Board-Certified Physician Assistant. Elizabeth graduated from Stephens College where she earned her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Upon graduation, Elizabeth has practiced in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, and is trained in neurotoxin injection and cosmetic treatments. She brings a great passion for the field of aesthetics and is dedicated to achieving natural results while enhancing one’s natural beauty!

With over 20 years of experience in the communications industry, Preston made a bold decision to pursue a more impactful path. As a certified laser technician and the proud owner of Pure Skin Laser Center, he saw an opportunity to make a difference in his community.
Driven by a deep desire to address the needs he observed, Preston finds fulfillment in working closely with new clients. He understands that each person carries a unique story, and he is passionate about helping them navigate their journey towards renewal. For Preston, there’s nothing more rewarding than being a part of his clients’ transformations, providing them with a fresh start and renewed confidence.

Steven Powell MD, MPH
Medical Director
Dr. Powell is a practicing physician who hold multiple licenses and certifications. Dr. Powell has been the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer for several organizations throughout his career. He spent over six years as the Chief Medical Officer for New London Hospital, a Dartmouth affiliate, for greater than six years. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from Clayton College and State University in Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Integrative Studies. He earned his M.D. from Mercer University School of Medicine in Georgia and his M.P.H. in Health Policy and Clinical Practice from The Dartmouth Institute at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. He completed internships in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine, a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry, a residency in Leadership Preventive Medicine, and was Chief Resident in the departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry all at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Medicine and Psychiatry, and is also a Certified Physician Executive through the American College of Physician Executives. Dr. Powell worked for over 10 years as an Emergency Room physician, and owned and operated several medical clinics across three states. He has a special interest in Dermatology and laser services.
